TRI-SHARE

We Tri harder for child care.

The Tri-Share Child Care Program combines the caring power of parents, employers and the State of Michigan to provide affordable, convenient child care to working families.

Here’s how:

Cost of Child Care
The cost of child care is shared between parents, employers and the State of Michigan, so families are only responsible for 33% of the cost of child care.

Child Care Providers
Under Tri-Share, any licensed child care provider may provide care for any child, age 0 – 17. This includes, but is not limited to, preschool, child care, before or after school care and summer programs.

Employer Deductions
Payment for child care is made directly to the child care provider through the family’s Tri-Share Hub with The United Way of Northwest Michigan. The employer will deduct one third of the cost of care from the employee’s earnings to cover his/her cost of care.
