Putting dollars where they do the most good

Putting dollars where they do the most good.

Every year, UWNWMI awards grants to other non-profit organizations in the area. These community impact grants are awarded based on the impact and importance of the programs and projects. Grants are made to organizations and programs that serve the Greater Grand Traverse Region (Antrim, Benzie, Kalkaska, Leelanau, and Grand Traverse counties), the Charlevoix-Emmet Region, and the Wexford-Missaukee Region.

United Way is committed to ensuring that funds raised in each region stay in that region so donors will see the difference their dollars make in the community for themselves. The great work these grants support is made possible by our community members’ generous spirit and contributions, so please join in and donate today to help make an impact!

2024 Grant Cycle Now open

At United Way of Northwest Michigan, giving back to the community is essential to our mission, and we know we’re not walking this path alone. Across our nine-county service area, we see how hard so many people work to improve the quality of life for their neighbors and would like to lend a hand to lighten the load.

Any Health and Human Service Organization focusing on the ALICE population throughout our three regions is encouraged to apply for a 2024 Community Impact Grant. These grants are intended to cover programmatic costs so your efforts can go even further, lift a bit higher, and do more good.

While multiple concepts may be submitted, awards are limited to one grant per organization. The average funding level is $5,000 though the range is between $1,000 and $15,000.

Please follow this link to the Request for Information to share some details about your organization and tell us how we can help fund your next project. Take a look at the RFI for more information, and contact us at grants@unitedwaynwmi.org with any questions.

General guidance for the Community Impact Grants can be found here.
